You will need to take a lot of precautions after the pest control services if you have kids at home. Use words such as exterminator to know more about what types of precautions you should take after the pest control.

It is true that parents can go to any extent if anything goes wrong with their kids. However, certain precautions will help you get rid of any unforbidable circumstances.

Following are few things you need to be careful about your kids after pest control services:

  1. Wash Kids’ Accessories

Kids’ accessories may include anything that they use on a daily basis. The first thing you really need to wash is their toys. You need to wash them in soapy water as kids can play with any toy any time of the day. Only soapy water can clean the chemicals of pesticides on the toys.

The best thing to do to save you from this excessive workload is to pack their toys in zip lock bags and lock them all in a closet or room where pest control is not required.

  1. Throw Away Food

In case you have left any food anyplace before or during the pest control, you really need to throw that food away. It does not matter how fresh that food might be. If it is exposed to the chemicals, you simply discard it. There is a serious possibility of kids eating the same food that has residues of toxic chemicals.

You would not want this thing to happen at any cost. Hence, take this advice very seriously and throw away all the exposed food immediately before the kids enter your place.

  1. Change the Bed Sheets and Blankets

Bed sheets and blankets or any type of clothing is very much in close contact with the skin. Kids have very sensitive skin and are too vulnerable to different types of chemical residues that the bed sheets may have during pest control. It is highly recommended that you get rid of the residues either by washing the bed sheets immediately or changing these with the new ones. If your kid has used any of the sheets, give him or her proper shower.

  1. Regular Handwash or Bathing

Yes, it sounds funny when you read the word bathing as we all take shower every day. However, do not hesitate to give your kids another shower if they are exposed to the chemicals anyhow. Soon after they get inside the house, ask them to wash their hands with gentle soap wash and then take the meals.

The whole house smells of chemicals soon after the pest control and hence, you may need a quick shower as the odor gets stuck on your body too.

  1. Keep Remaining Pesticides Away

Avoid keeping pesticides in the range of kids. Never change the bottle or put it in any bottle of food as this may create a deadly confusion. Most of the times, kids don’t even read the label on the bottle and directly consume from the bottles. This can lead to fatal conditions. Instruct your kids about the pesticides and its place.

The best possible way is to hide and lock all the pesticides either in the basement or in a closet which kids do not have an access to.
